Left Hand Man: Shaun Hardie
Common Riding Week is nearly upon us, it's amazing where time goes, what a fantastic term in office Rachel and myself have had. We made some great friends over the past few years and I'm sure we'll be friends for a long time. I would like to thank all my friends and family for their support during my term in office, and a special thank you to the Lauder principles I've spent time with and had so much fun-namely, Boris, Hazel, Lee, Jenny, Jon, Marianne and Rachel.
Congratulations to our Golden and Silver Jubilee Cornets Neil (Mav) Wilson and Crawford McNeil. I hope this year brings back many memories. Good luck to Lade Busser Margaret Dick, a Coming Riding stalwart and to Joanna Etchells who will be presenting the wreath. Common Riding day will be an experience you will always remember.
I wish Cornet Marc and his Lass Vivienne all the very best during Common Riding Week. Cherish and savour every moment as it passes in a flash and I congratulate you both on the way you've carried out your duties since election night. Lauder can be proud of you both.
