Safety Announcement
Lauder Common Riding would like your help and assistance regarding spectator safety and car parking, in and around the Burgh during Lauder Common Riding 2009.
Wednesday Fancy Dress Parade
No vehicles in The Avenue, Mid Row (sorry but the webmaster can't locate this road-if you can point me in the right
direction it would be greatly appreciated!), Market Place and West High Street (except in lay-bys off A68) View map (once you access the map double click to enlarge)
Thursday Evening Ride Out
No vehicles parked in The Avenue until after horses leave at 6pm
Saturday Common Riding Day
No vehicles parked in Mid Row (sorry but the webmaster can't locate this road-if you can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated!), Market Place, West High Street, The Loan (the small white section of road just off the A68 on the turn off to Stow Road), The Row, Lower Back Road (Castle Wynd) and Mill Wynd. All these areas will be marked with cones. View map (once you access the map double click to enlarge)
Car parking at the Watering Stane will be monitored by the authorities this year. Vehicles are requested to park at the designated area under the supervision of Stewards.
Spectators are asked to stand a safe distance from fast moving horses at all times and do not attempt to cross the path of horses. Safety of spectators, riders and horses is paramount. Please follow instructions from foot and mounted
